Concepts of Place
Creating architectural townscapes full of life and character William Block takes the audience on journeys through great places for people, through design concepts, perspective sketches and animated stories. He uses hand drawing and the computer to help tell his story. His work portrays an impression of place, one that includes the audience to let them feel interpret and be a part of the process.
City Illustrations
Here are some drawings of American and European towns and buildings. William has lived in and drawn hill town villages in Southern France, in Somerset, UK and has done a series of great train stations from all over the world.
He develops a series of drawings that show us how places grow, evolve over time. Creating both still art work as well a animated videos that can be used to engage an audience and describe a story.
Animated Stories
Stories are generated to take an audience to a place through illustrations, sound and movement.
The animations help to engage a viewer to see, feel and experience. The stories can be developed to help explain a new project, change in time, how a placed has grown and changed and how we might develop it in the future. It tells a story of our past, present and future. There are many different uses for the animated stories.They can move, teach and entertain.

Originally from California, I lived for many years in France, notably in Paris and Provence, before settling permanently in Provence.
The scale of the villages, the beauty of the landscapes, the pace of life, and the quality of the light are an endless source of inspiration for me. They fuel my work in architecture and encourage me to create unique concepts as well as captivating illustrations.
